Welcome to Newsletter #9!
Last week I shared some affiliate links at the veryyyyyyy bottom of my email. I won’t share them every week, but they do help with expenses on my end. If you’re not down for an online shopping spree, you’re welcome to buy me a coffee. 🙏🏻
I’m based in Austin, TX and always traveling - let’s book a shoot! Inquire here.

Turn left on 360, turn right on 2244, turn right on 71 and continue for 50 miles. The drive was pleasurable: four lanes, 70mph speed limit, wide open skies - pretty dang beautiful. Marble Falls sits right outside of Horseshoe Bay on the Colorado River. I hopped in the car and drove up while it was sunny because thunderstorms loomed in the forecast for the week.
I took the time to interview Elizabeth at Pam's pearl, a home and apparel store on Main St. She turned to me and told me the history of Pam's Pearl + how they ended up in this little navy house off of Main Street. Through our conversation I realized how friendly every patron of small towns tend to be. Along the way, I’ve had some funny conversations about being a young adult. It’s a continuous thread with the people that I've talked to: that what I'm doing is countercultural to what my generation cares about. Capturing small towns in photo and writing.
2020 proved to be a pivotal year for Marble Falls, Texas. Touristy stores turned into local boutiques filled with apparel home decor. People from Austin and everywhere else drive to Marble Falls specifically for the Bluebonnet Café. I took a peek inside and decided to save the venture for a day when my stomach was agreeable. I’ve heard the food is legendary, and I look forward to my next visit to Marble Falls.
Instead I walked across the street to the beer hall called Bear King Brewery. Funny story about this brewery, their branding + packaging was done by an agency I used to work for. I took the opportunity to snap a selfie and send it to my old team, wishing them well.
What’s next? I plan to cross Dripping Springs and Elgin off my list next. If you have any recommendations for those or other towns around Austin, let me know!
🫶 from Texas,
Ellie Pace
